Lochcarron Sailathon!

( This is a photo of the Yacht that I'll be crewing  in an attempt to sail to the Arctic and back in 12 days. But first I have to fundraise!)

All the money raised will go to the Ocean Youth Trust Scotland which runs Adventure Sailure for young people in Scotland. Several of our junior members have benefitted from this in the past. See www.oytscotland.org.uk

So on Saturday 16th May I'm going to attempt a twelve hour sailing marathon in the loch. Beginning at 8.00a.m. and finishing at 8.00p.m. I'm planning to sail around the Lochcarron Islands as often as I can! Along the way I'm hoping that people might like to come and join me for a lap (and perhaps make a donation to the fund afterwards?). There will also be a small competition to see if anyone can guess how many laps I will do in the twelve hour period. (This will of course depend on the wind conditions on the day). The prize will be a trip to Plockton and back on "Mhojo" calling in to play with the dolphins along the way.

Competition forms are available at the Ferguson Medical Centre, the Rock Villa Hotel and at the Clubhouse on Saturday. I have been set the target to raise £3,000.00 before the end of May and I promise to match, pound for pound, all donations up to that target. Further details and details of how to donate to the Ocean Youth Trust Scotland can be found at www.justgiving.com/davidmurray4

Please note this is running at the same time as the Sail Taster Session which is happening on the same day.

Many thanks,       Dave Murray.
