Dramatic Rescue at Plockton Small Boat Sailing Club

Thankfully the squall which hit the dinghies competing at Plockton's Regatta on Wednesday evening was dealt with efficiently and with no injury to all concerned.

The incident occurred in Loch Carron but did not involve our club which is situated about 8 miles to the East of Plockton.

Coincidentally we were just about to start one of our regular Wednesday evening club races when the same squall passed through our sailing area at about 7.15p.m. Fortunately one of our members had been late to arrive so we had not yet launched our dinghies! So there but for the Grace of God......

Several of the press reports have commented that the rescue was in Lochcarron. This notice has been posted to assure interested partied that Lochcarron Sailing Club was not involved.
